Elaine Xydis Lipka

For more than a decade, Elaine Xydis Lipka dedicated herself to the United States’ work in counterterrorism. She worked as a special agent on international and domestic terrorism, working from field offices in Denver, Colorado and Washington, D.C. In this role, she was responsible for the identification of criminal offenders and the collection of evidence leading to their criminal activities as well as arrest and conviction for those behaviors.

Lipka served in this capacity for 14 years. She encountered criminal actions such as fraud, organized crime, white collar infractions and acts of terrorism against the United States, people in the country and other interests. As special agent, she conducted a variety of interviews, documented investigation results, gathered intelligence and prepared detailed reports. These assignments, in addition to many others, set Lipka up for her future role with the Federal Bureau of Investigation -- a job that she took in 2005. But prior to that, Elaine Lipka worked with the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), maintained liaisons and informants, worked with fellow agents for Special Events Management and liaise with local, state, federal and foreign agencies. She was a member of the Evidence Response Team (ERT) and was trained in active shooter awareness and suspicious activity/persons instruction. These tasks, among others, created a responsible and superior special agent who would go on to a decade-plus career with the esteemed FBI.
